Only as much as I Dream can I be

"Only as high as I reach can I grow,
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be."
Karen Rayn

I would love to know what this child is dreaming about. Maybe she represents each and every one of us. We all have dreams but how many of us just stand on the safe side of the fence and do not venture into the unknown and follow our dreams.

I just loved this child's expression. It was this far away moment that was the inspiration for this painting.

Its good to dream. Don't be afraid of failure. Catch those dreams and follow them. Yes, sometimes its a risky journey into the unknown but its also an exciting one. I am enjoying following my dream. Are you following yours?

  3. Hi Ona,

I do follow my dream. Just recently I've started working as an artist full time plus studying Fine Art full time as well. This was my dream of my life. And even I am painting for more than 25 years (ah.. hard to believe) I've always dreamed to do it, no, I guess when I was a kid I always knew I will.

Your painting is incredibly beautiful. It definitely inspires and makes me think about the purity of the World and about the fact that children eyes seem so wise that they know something we forgot maybe...

    May Be..

    Thank you,
    Irina

  4. Hi Irina,

Good luck in following your dream. Yes, I think many adults lose the ability to dream like children and to believe that their dreams are possible. I guess we are trained to believe that failure is a bad thing and not a learning experience so we stop trying.

  5. My goodness Ona...this is so very beautiful and so very special. You have such a wonderful way with light and shadow and the expression on the child's face is one of simple uncomplicated dreams, that only a child's simple clear mind envisages!

  6. Hi Brinda,

Lighting is so much fun to play with. My ref photo of the child was taken in the middle of the day so I had to change the lighting quite a bit to ceate the effect I wanted. Yes, it was the child's expression that caught my interest. Only a child could be so far away in what was such a busy and very noisy place.
