Pigment-Ted

I was honoured to be asked to create a watercolour for the TWSA's 2016 mini painting auction and just had to create one with a transparent watercolour theme. Now we all know that when painting in transparent watercolour preserving your whites is the key. Little white Paint-Ted has been trying so hard to preserve his whites but when you are a young bear with deliciously juicy rich tubes of watercolour to experiment with this is such a hard thing to do. Pigment-Ted, on the other hand is learning, first hand, about the art of glazing. I think someone maybe should have told him that this layering of colour is supposed to happen on the paper though and not on him though, don't you?

Click on this link to see the other paintings in the mini auction this year. You can bid on line for any of the paintings in the auction at any time over the next two weeks until June 11.

  1. This is so sweet Ona. Pigment Ted is not the only artist who has trouble keep the paint off himself - lol
