Over the last couple of days my son has gone through quite a transformation in the painting. I finished all the under painting and he looked recognizable but a very strange colour
then layer by layer I added glazes of perm rose, brown madder, quin gold, burnt sienna, burnt umber and then used brown madder to rosy his cheeks a little more and caput mortum for the shaded areas.
His face looks a little pinker in this photo than it looks in the real painting. I hope you get the idea though. Next I need to add his freckles and give him some eye lashes, eye brows and hair but for today I'm done.
